No, no, no...not me! I didn't bake cookies. My precious godson, Max, spent the snow day baking cookies with his parents. This video is too flippin' cute not to share!

Fri-YAY!
I'm incredibly grateful that I had this past Monday off for President's Day. I L.O.V.E. the actual holiday day, but the following four days in the office always seem to be a little more chaotic/stressful than normal work weeks. I guess the point I'm trying to make is TGIF!
And here are a few of my Friday favorites...
One: The Perfect Valentine
The husband did very well with this year's Valentine's Day gift...
I'll be the first to admit that I am totally spoiled...but I'm incredibly grateful as well! Thank you, Ryan, for making Valentine's Day {and almost every other day} perfect! I love you!

Two: Baby Cowboy Boots
Thanks to our fabulous friends, the Gonzalez family, our little midget has the tiniest pair of cowboy boots just awaiting his arrival. How adorable are these???
Three: 90s Country Music
My friend posted a link to this article on Facebook yesterday, and I was singing the lines to every single song it mentioned in my head. I always have and always will love country music! And George Strait will always be the very best. Always.
Four: Taco Casserole
I attempted this recipe I found on pinterest...and it was a success {and sooooo easy!}. I put a few more noodles in it than the recipe called for, and it was more like a taco-flavored goulash than a casserole, but it was pretty tasty!

Bumpdate: 16 Weeks
![]() |
| What a difference just one week can make! Hello, Baby Bump! |
How far along?: 16 weeks
Gender: It's a BOY!
Total weight gain: I'll just wait to find out this little tidbit of information until we go back to the doctor next week.
Stretch marks?: I think I may have seen a slight hint of a stretch mark on my side, but I've been too afraid to examine it closer. Now doubling up on all the creams/lotions!
Symptoms: No real change in symptoms...but the bump is now real. I feel like it just popped out over night.
Maternity clothes?: Gonna have to breakdown and actually shop for some maternity clothes this weekend. Not too thrilled about this, but I'm ready to have some clothes that are comfortable to wear.
Sleep: I've had fewer nighttime trips to the bathroom the past few nights, so I'd say I've been sleeping pretty well.
Cravings: Fruit, fruit and more fruit. And this falls more in the "sugar" category, but I've discovered a new love for FruitLoops cereal this week. Oh, and chips and salsa...but that's been a craving for my entire life.
Food Aversions: I can't think of anything new in the food department that I'm disliking.
Mood: I've been pretty cranky in the mornings, but once I get past that grouchiness, I've been feeling happy and excited for the most part. Maybe the crazy emotional mood swings are taming a bit...at least for this week???
Best Moment of the Week: Having Monday off for President's Day and just hanging out with the husband all day with no schedule to follow.
Miss Anything?: It was sooooo incredibly nice outside last Saturday {80 degrees-ish}, and I was really wishing for a nice little patio brunch with bottomless mimosas.
Looking Forward To: Feeling our little midget move for the first time...hopefully that's coming soon!

Bumpdate: 15 Weeks...Plus Gender Reveal
![]() |
| Missing my baby-daddy photographer this week! |
Due Date: August 5, 2015
How far along? 15 weeks
Gender: It's a BOY!!!
Total weight gain: I haven't stepped on the scale since last week...I'm not sure if it's subconsciously out of fear/anxiety or if I've just forgotten...but I kinda don't mind not knowing.
Stretch marks?: None yet! Using a mixture of creams/oils every night.
Symptoms: My face is broken out worse than it ever was when I was a teenager. It's terrible...and the moment I think it's clearing up a bit, more ugly bumps pop up on the other side of my face. Ick. I can also tell that my cheeks are already starting to look a little puffy. My face has always been the first noticeable place I gain weight, but I didn't expect it would be quite this early in the pregnancy.
Maternity clothes?: Not really. I've been wearing "flowy" tops with these {stretchy} leggings that are truly like real pants. I've owned them for a couple of years, but they've been "lost" in my closet...so it was like Christmas morning when I found them! Still wearing my loose-fitting dresses. I did get a couple of maternity tank tops from Target, and they've been phenomenal to go under pretty much everything.
Sleep: I'm sleeping comfortably. I wouldn't quite say "sleeping well," but I didn't sleep well before I was pregnant. I definitely have more energy than I had in the first trimester, but I'm still going to bed before 10:00 most nights!
Cravings: Still eating lots of fruit.
Food Aversions: It's been weird lately...I'll be starving and craving something in particular, and then by the time it is ready to eat, I'm totally over it and the thought of eating it makes my stomach turn. Example: I reallllllly wanted Chick-fil-A nuggets the other day, but by the time I waited in the drive-thru line {which is ALWAYS long, no matter what time it is!} and got my nuggets, I couldn't get home and get away from that smell fast enough! Thank goodness that was short-lived...I'm back to loving Chick-fil-A nuggets!
Mood: Mixed emotions ALL.THE.TIME! Quite the roller-coaster ride, I tell ya!
Best Moment of the Week: Hands down, the best moment of the week was finding out we're going to be parents to a baby BOY!
Worst Moment of the Week: This was a difficult week, as we received some very sad news that a family friend had passed away. He was only 30 years old and died in a work-related accident. Such a tragedy that definitely put a lot of things into perspective and reminded us to never take anything for granted. I traveled back home to Kansas for the funeral...and it was tough, but I am so glad I was able to be there. Here's to you William...your ornery personality and constant smile will truly be missed!
Miss Anything? I'm back to missing deli meat...I just want to make a sandwich!
Looking Forward To: Hearing our little midget's heartbeat at our doctor's appointment on February 23!

Thought for the Day
![]() |

Why why why are the work weeks dragging by so slowly these days?!!? I think part of it has to do with the recent GORGEOUS weather outside that leaves me with ZERO interest in being stuck in my office staring at spreadsheets. Oh well...enough of my whining!
Oh...and don't forget about our fabulous Valentine's Day giveaway! Just a couple of days left to enter to win $150 Victoria's Secret gift card.

Two: Jayten's 6th Birthday
Sending extended birthday wishes to this little dude {our nephew} who turned six on Tuesday! His mom blogged all about his football-themed birthday party here.

Three: KU Traditions
We attended a KU Endowment event at Dallas Country Club on Wednesday night, and they showed this video. The speaker before the video said, "If this video doesn't give you chills, then you mean nothing to me." We all laughed, but I have to admit...it gave me goosebumps several times. Here's to all the awesome traditions of the University of Kansas.
P.S. The guy speaking was an offensive linemen on the KU football team {yes, KU does have a football team} from 1995-1995...he wrote the poem he's speaking.

Four: Baby's First Picture
My sweet mom sent us this precious gift this week...our little midget's first photo! How sweet is this? It's our very first sonogram picture displayed on a perfect little plaque that sits on a mini easel! Our baby's first photo AND the first decor for his/her room! Thank you, Mom {Grammy!}.
Cheers to Friday!

Bumpdate: 14 Weeks
How far along? 14 weeks
Total weight gain: 6 pounds...no change from last week. Phew!
Stretch marks?: No. I've still been using my mixture of St. Ives lotion with collagen elastin and Bio-Oil ...and my always-thoughtful friend Megan got me this fabulous kit for expecting mamas that will hopefully help prevent those ugly stretch marks!
Symptoms: No major changes from last week. Again, I'm so incredibly thankful for how smooth and easy this pregnancy has been so far.
Maternity clothes?: Not yet. I've ordered a few "flowy" {non-maternity} tops to wear with my normal slacks and the BellaBands. All of my fitted dresses have been relocated to the {unreachable} back of my closet so I don't get too upset in the mornings when I'm trying desperately to find a "loose dress" that comfortably fits. Outside of work, yoga pants/leggings are my best friend!
Sleep: I think I am starting to get a little bit of energy back...even just ever so slightly...I'll take what I can get! The naps over my lunch hour are no longer a requirement, but I'm still going to bed pretty early at night. I only have a couple of weeks left to sleep on my back, and then I'm going to be in trouble. I know I'm going to have to order one of those fancy pillows to help me sleep on my side, but I'm wondering if I need this one or this one? Any advice/recommendations would be very much appreciated!

| Help! Which pillow do I need?!!? |
Cravings: FRUIT! You know, the expensive kind that is already pre-cut for you at the store? Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew. Those are my current obsessions!
Food Aversions: Still not loving grilled chicken. A couple of times this past week, I've thought something sounded delicious, but by the time it was ready to eat, I was totally uninterested. Seems like my appetite is now riding the same roller-coaster as my emotions!
Mood: I've been happy for the most part {or at least that's the way it seems to me!}. Anything baby-related will likely bring tears to my eyes. I'm still cranky in the mornings, but I don't think that has anything to do with being pregnant. #notamorningperson
Gender: We'll know by next week...CANNOT.WAIT!
Best Moment of the Week: Realizing how many friends I have that are pregnant at the same time as me or have recently had babies. It's pretty comforting to know these girls know exactly how I'm feeling and aren't annoyed {or at least cover up their annoyance very well} with my endless questions.
Worst Moment of the Week: It's gotten cold again in Texas, and I'm not a fan...so that has pretty much eliminated my evening walks around the neighborhood that I was enjoying last week. Bring on spring...SOON!
Miss Anything? Fitting comfortably in my clothes! I'm at that awkward stage between my pre-preggo clothes and maternity clothes. I'm trying to just take it in stride and understand "this is part of it"...but I've come to dread the task of finding an outfit to wear each day!
Looking Forward To: This most definitely hasn't changed since last week...still can't wait to find out if we're having a BOY or GIRL!

Leslie Loves...{2.01}
It's been a hot minute or two since I've had a "Leslie Loves..." post, but I finally came across something that is worthy of sharing with you...and it's currently on sale!
This shirt made me a hypocrite. You see, I used to make fun of the husband for finding something he liked and then buying it in EVERY.SINGLE.COLOR it came in...but he recently put me in my place when he pointed out that I own this shirt in three colors!
Anyway, the LOFT Utility Blouse is pretty much perfect. It's great with jeans or leggings on the weekend, and it pairs perfectly with slacks or a skirt for the office. It's light-weight, so you can layer it under a jacket if you need to while it's still cold...and it will be a great transition top into spring.
Oh yeah, and in case you missed the mention above, it is currently on sale for just $22.50! {By the way, don't ever pay full price for anything at LOFT...it's pretty much guaranteed to be on sale within a week or two!} At that price, everyone needs this shirt in all three colors!
For size reference, I am wearing a small...
Happy Shopping!
